(YYZ) is an immersive installation inspired by the Toronto Pearson International Airport and the repetitive routines of the people passing through and the machinery sending and inspecting luggage. The viewer becomes part of the installation as their shadows merge with the projected shapes along the walls. YYZ’s machinery mimics the monotonous airport routine; it is built to lag and creak and repeat imagery as the conveyor overlaps and goes around.
